Wendy Benners has been counseling groups, individuals and couples since 2017. She felt called to be a counselor after experiencing sudden, tragic loss and grief in her own life. She understands what it feels like to have your life turned upside down, to feel all alone, and to feel like no one understands. She knows what it feels like to lose your identity, and to be disappointed and experience betrayal in relationships. But she also knows… the joy of transformation. She understands that beauty can come from ashes and that there is hope for hurting hearts. And she wants you to know that too.
She wants people to know that they are not alone. They can walk through pain with a trusted professional guiding them toward healing and growth, and perhaps, more importantly, they can walk with someone who cares.
Wendy Benners is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association, as well as the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy. She approaches counseling from a holistic perspective and is trauma informed and integrative in regards to style; meaning that she pulls techniques from different counseling theories, depending on what she feels will work best for the client(s) sitting in front of her.
She has certifications and/or training in the following:
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy
Myers–Briggs Type Indicator
Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis
